What this page does not tell you

Which walks take dogs. That is recorded for 12 of the 74 routes on this site. The other 62 say nothing either way, so check with the landowner before you set out, particularly in lambing season.

Access rules for dogs are not the same in Scotland as in England and Wales, and some of them change with the season. The Countryside Code, published jointly by Natural England and Natural Resources Wales, covers England and Wales. The Scottish Outdoor Access Code, which NatureScot has a duty to keep under review, covers Scotland. This page publishes neither, because a rule printed here in August is a rule somebody reads in March.

Each of the 30 refusals is on that property's own page, in the merchant's own words and next to the date somebody read them.
